G-20 Summit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 16th summit of the G-20 countries at 1:30 pm in Rome, the capital of Italy. No agenda set for talks with Vatican: Foreign Secretary

Giving information about the Prime Minister’s programs in Italy, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said, “The Prime Minister will meet separately. He will first meet the Pope personally and after that there will be delegation level talks.

Shringla said the Vatican has not set any agenda for the talks. “I believe the tradition is that when there is a discussion with the Most Honorable (Pope) there is no agenda and we respect that. I am sure that during this time we will be involved in discussions on the global scenario in general and those issues which are important to us.

PM Modi interacts with people from different communities

Earlier yesterday, PM Modi interacted with people from different communities in Italy’s capital Rome, including people from the Indian community, friends of India from various organizations in the Italian capital here. Modi praised his role in strengthening India-Italy ties during this period. Prime Minister Modi has come here at the invitation of Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi. Draghi received him before the first one-on-one meeting at the Palazzo Chigi, where the cabinet sits. Here he was also presented a guard of salute.
