Suresh Negi said that, ‘As far as I am aware, till now no one has petitioned the Uttarakhand Assembly Speaker to disqualify him, nor has he resigned on his own volition.’ State Congress spokesperson said that, ‘He should understand that his continuance as MLA is disrespectful to the spirit and provisions of the Constitution, especially the anti-defection law.’ Negi said that the BJP should also ask these two MLAs to resign immediately and show that it really respects the Constitution and the will of the people.
