Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the Chhath Ghats on Wednesday in view of Chhath (Chhath Puja 2021), a great festival of public faith. He inspected the Ganga Ghats by steamer from Gandhi Ghat to Kangan Ghat in Patna City. After this he also inspected the Ganga Ghats till Nasriganj in Danapur. During the inspection, the Chief Minister gave necessary directions to the officials regarding the cleanliness, safety and cleanliness of the ghats.

While directing the officers, the Chief Minister said that there should be no problem in offering Arghya to the Chhath Vratis on the island structure of river Ganga, so that arrangements should be ensured. He said that keeping in mind the safety of Chhath Vratis, Chhath Ghats should be constructed so that there is no problem in offering Arghya. Keeping in view the water level and flow of the river Ganga, make adequate security arrangements at the Chhath Ghats. Also make sure that along with the safety of Chhath Vratis, they get all kinds of facilities. Barricading should be done properly from the point of view of security near Chhath Ghats. Also, get barricading done near the roads along the river. Also take special care of the facilities of Chhath Vratis.

The flow of river Ganges is very high

Talking to reporters after inspecting the Ganga Ghats, the Chief Minister said that a large number of people celebrate Chhath Mahaparva on the banks of river Ganga in Patna. In view of the preparations for Chhath Mahaparv, we have taken stock of various ghats today. Necessary instructions have been given to the officials in consultation with the people regarding the preparations for the Chhath Ghats. This time due to excessive rain, the flow of water in the Ganges river is very high. In such a situation, security arrangements are necessary at Chhath Ghats so that people do not face any problem.

He said that the officers and engineers will start the work after taking stock of the ghats on the banks of the Ganges and selecting the site for Chhath Mahaparv so that Chhath Vratis do not face any problem. The Chief Minister said that he would once again inspect the Chhath Ghats on November 3 and take stock of the preparations.
